Growing Together: A Look Back at Our Year
2025 was a year of growth at codefortynine – professionally, personally, and culturally. We welcomed new people, new apps, and fresh perspectives. We explored, questioned, celebrated, learned, and supported one another. Time to take a look back.
TOLAB seven + codefortynine = 💙
Some things just feel right before they’re official. That’s exactly how it was with the acquisition of Tolab. In addition to exciting apps like External Data for Jira Fields and External Data for Confluence, we were lucky to gain something even more valuable: Aakansha, Douglas, and Thomas joined codefortynine. With deep experience and even deeper kindness, they’ve become an essential part of our team.
Finance and Fresh Faces
If you think finance is boring, you haven’t met Evdokia. Since joining us this year, she’s kept our finances running smoothly, always with a big smile. As she puts it: “Numbers are straightforward and so beautifully unexciting, even if they can be quite exciting.” We couldn’t agree more.
And then there’s Andreas, who joined in September as our new COO. He’s passionate about building teams that genuinely enjoy working together and he’s already become an integral part of ours. His four-legged friend hasn’t made it to the office yet, but we’re still holding out hope.
Trust Needs People and Standards
We’re proud to have maintained our Platinum Marketplace Partner status within the Atlassian ecosystem. This is not just a badge, it’s a commitment to keep investing in trust, security, and quality.
Early 2025, we successfully launched the codefortynine Partner Program. Since then, we’ve built an even closer, trust-based connection with our Strategic and Advanced Partners and we’re looking forward to an even more collaborative 2026.
This year, we renewed our SOC 2 Type II certification again, sending a clear signal to our customers and partners: reliability is not just a promise, but a standard we live by. You can find out more in this article.
Giving Back Is Part of Our Business
We’ve been a member of Pledge 1% since 2019 and we’re proud to continue this journey.
Once again, 10% of our profit was donated to organizations we selected together as a team.
Alongside long-standing partners like German Foundation for UN-Refugee Aid, UNICEF, the Child Protection Association Karlsruhe, and the Karlsruhe Food Bank, we were excited to support two new initiatives this year:
aula gGmbH, a digital participation platform empowering students to shape their schools, and the inclusive youth farm Schwarzach, where children of all abilities explore nature and animals together.
Seeing the work of these organizations firsthand, especially during our visits to the Child Protection Association and food bank in Karlsruhe, left a lasting impression on us. It reinforced why this commitment matters and why we’ll continue to grow it.
Looking ahead, we’ve set a clear goal: starting in 2026, we’ll increase our donation share to 15% of profits. We’re also proud to now be a member of the Giving What We Can Pledge 10%.
Innovation and Culture
Some of our favorite moments this year involved sticky notes, prototypes, or hiking boots.
Our first internal hackathon focused on Atlassian Rovo. We built agents – with and without code – and explored a wide range of creative ideas.
At Atlas Camp, several team members made connections with the larger Atlassian developer community. Plans for participation in 2026 are already in place!
We also had the chance to attend the Atlassian Team events in Anaheim and Barcelona as sponsors. Booth conversations, new connections, and plenty of exciting ideas for the future made these events special.
The Partner Roundtables in Hamburg and Munich, were truly inspiring events with great people and valuable exchange. Moments like these underscore what we value so much about the Atlassian ecosystem as a community based on openness, collaboration, and shared learning.
The first Atlassian Community events in Karlsruhe, hosted by our friends at CraftCoders, brought back memories. Held at Perfekt Futur, where our company journey started back then, they reminded us how far we’ve come.
Culture Isn’t Static
Culture isn’t a document. It’s something we build together. That’s why we held our second company-wide culture workshop this year.
We asked ourselves:
What should define our culture moving forward?
Many of our values from 2022 still hold true. But as we grow, new perspectives matter and every voice counts, regardless of how long someone has been with us. Because real culture isn’t handed down, it’s shaped, collaboratively.
MeetMe Magic
What would the year be without our regular MeetMe gatherings? Whether we were hiking in the Black Forest, crafting wooden lanterns, or playing Viking Chess in the park, we shared stories, cookies (lots of cookies), laughs, and great company.
Our end-of-year event topped it all off: curling, mulled wine, Secret Santa and a magic show that had us amazed, laughing, and momentarily forgetting everything else.
What’s Next?
We continue to grow intentionally. We stay curious and we look ahead with optimism.
Thank you to our team, our partners, our customers, and everyone who’s part of our journey.
2026? We’re ready!
